Friday Favorite

A favorite snack around our house is popcorn.  It's a relatively healthy, easy snack option.  But did you know you can make your own microwavable popcorn?  All you need is popcorn kernels, a brown paper lunch bag, salt and butter (optional).  Pour 1/4 of a cup of kernels into a brown paper lunch bag, fold the bag down a few times and stick it in the microwave.  I tried adding more than 1/4 cup of kernels once and quickly realized the bag wasn't big enough to hold all the popcorn once it started popping.  I had popcorn all over my microwave...so I recommend 1/4 cup!  Push the popcorn button on your microwave and in a couple of minutes you have your own microwave popcorn. Since microwaves differ in power, listen and once your hear 5+ second pauses in between pops your popcorn is probably done.

We like to add some melted butter and Jane's Krazy Mixed-Up Salt to ours for some flavor but you can fix yours to suit your taste buds.  Enjoy!
Not much needed for this snack!

Yummy popcorn in just a couple of minutes!

Do you have any quick, easy, healthy snack options you keep on hand at your house?

 Yummy Fingers
A healthy Halloween snack!  Great snack for after school or to have on the buffet table at a party.  Just remember to serve with plenty of baby carrots so your "fingers" won't get eaten!

Supplies:
-You can use store bought ranch dressing/dip or make you own with this easy homemade ranch recipe.
-carrots-washed and peeled (5 for each bowl-4 long ones and 1 slightly shorter one)
-almond slices (1 per finger)
-small bowl

Directions:
1.  Put your ranch dip into the small bowl.
2.  Place 5 carrots in dip, standing up
3. Put a dap of ranch on the ends of the carrots.
4.  Place an almost slice on each dab of ranch.
